Digital Rockwell Tester
The AT130 is useful for higher volume testing especially with challenging conditions: dirty environments, large awkward parts, and inexperienced operators. The AT250 is basically the same as the AT130 but with more advanced electronics for data storage, time at load display, and other digital features. These testers range from the Series 200 which is a low price basic analog regular Rockwell to the 400 Series with regular and superficial capabilities with motor-drive testing and dial-in loading. New, high-accuracy Rockwell system uses an almost friction free load system and closed loop electronics to improve accuracy. Semi-automatic to fully automatic system

Ernst NR3D Low Volume Digital
Rockwell Tester
This model of Rockwell Twin Tester has the advantages of the clamping feature combined with a twin tester: automatic shifting from regular to superficial load ranges. The AT350 Rockwell tester is designed for the highest volume automatic testing applications requiring motorized operation for testing rates up to 1000 pieces per hour. A unique hardness tester for checking gear teeth and other difficult access samples that operates like a Rockwell tester but uses electrical resistivity to measure the depth of indentation

This tester is an easy choice for a company needing a low cost digital unit that will work hard and can even provide accurate Superficial results with digital outputs.

& Indenters

Three models of portable Rockwell testers provide the ability to test with a Rockwell type of test method but nearly instant test results. This tester uses the ASTM test method for Rebound (Leeb method) Hardness Testing according to ASTM A-956 and provides readouts in equivalent Rockwell values. A full range of indenters and test blocks are available for purchase from Quality Solutions. For details call with the tester model, scale, and hardness range (test blocks).

About the Rockwell Tester
Try making an indentation in a material using a small (minor) load applied to a metal ball or specially shaped diamond to get to a good starting point for the measurement, then applying the major load, pausing, releasing, to the minor load position and then measuring the difference in depth of indentation between the minor and major loads. Originally these testers used weights to apply the load, but in more recent decades the weights have been abandoned on higher end systems in order to improve speed and accuracy.
About Ernst Hardness Testers
These bench Rockwell testers are made by Ernst Harteprufer SA, a Swiss/Italian company that has been in the business since the 1950s and one of the main manufacturers of hardness testers worldwide since the 1980s and.  Their products are often provide unique performance advantages over the more standard testers from other manufacturers.  For most of those years these testers were sold in North America by Newage Industries (which became Newage Testing Instruments, now owned by Ametek) under the Versitron® name among others but now they are sold by Quality Solutions under the original Ernst branding. [Versitron® is a registered trademark of Ametek, Inc.]
